What is a monitored alarm
system?
A
monitored alarm system is connected by telephone
wires, cellular telephone or "long range radio" to a
"central station". A central monitoring station
acts as the link between your home and the police,
fire department, and emergency response
authorities. A central station is manned
24 hours a day, 7 days a week by highly skilled
operators trained to respond to
emergencies. When alarm signals are
received by the central station, trained, professional
operators contact authorities and responsible
parties. Alarm signals are transmitted in
a format that provides the central station with
crucial information such as:
which window or
door has been violated;
if the alarm sent was a silent panic or a
medical panic;
Central Station technology enables the operator
to instantly determine if the alarm signal
received was a fire signal or a carbon monoxide
(CO) signal; |

can
include
sensors
on
an
alarm system that monitor for floods and low
temperatures. This is especially useful for
seasonal residences that are unoccupied for several
months at a time. Our central station can alert you to
a low temperature or water condition before
significant property damage occurs.
Digital communications over
standard telephone lines is the most common
method of signaling an alarm. The
system sends an encoded message that must be
acknowledged by a host receiver in order to
confirm communication. The place where
those signals are processed and responded to
is called a central station.
Long range radio and cellular systems
provide a higher level of security. These
devices address the weakest link in a system,
the telephone lines; they operate over air waves
when the telephone line is compromised by the
weather or a sophisticated thief. Radio
and cellular systems are becoming more and more
popular as burglars are cutting telephone
lines. Many consumers no longer have a
"home phone" they use cellular phones or the
internet to communicate. H.S. Custom
Security, LLC can install equipment to monitor
your alarm by cellular phone or internet.
At home or away, awake or asleep, a custom alarm system,
installed by H.S. Custom Security, LLC can keep your
family and home safe and secure.
